Dan Bridston

Mr. Bridston maintains an active vocal studio in Los Angeles and is highly regarded as technician and coach. He apprenticed with the renowned teachers Esther Andreas for ten years, and with Kathleen Darragh for fifteen years. Mr. Bridston has served as conductor and music director with Los Angeles Opera Department of Community Programs and Education, and as Associate Conductor for many main stage productions. He has served on the faculty of California State University, Long Beach, where he taught Opera Studio and Diction for Singers.

Some of Dan's professional engagements have been with Opera Pacific, Michigan Opera Theater, Dayton Opera, Guild Opera Company, Riverside Opera, Bel Canto Opera and Gotham City Opera. For many years, he was the official accompanist for the Metropolitan Opera auditions in Los Angeles and San Bernardino districts. He is currently the pianist for the Bel Canto Vocal Scholarship Foundation and the AEIOU vocal competition. He has been a vocal coach at OperaWorks, the renowned opera training program (Ann Baltz, Artistic Director). Mr. Bridston is also the co-founder and Artistic Director of The Joy of Singing Workshops with the extraordinary jazz artist Ann Louise Christensen (Christensen Music Studio, Glendale, CA). His weekly performance techniques class is always full.
